11mm European Pinfire Revolver

A lovely large frame, six shot Liege proofed 11mm pinfire revolver. The revolver is of high quality, with a good crisp action, and strong springs.
The bores are good, with visible rifling in the barrel.
This piece is unusual, as it has a fully enclosed frame - and was likely made as a military private purchase, which also explains the lanyard ring.
Pieces of this side were popular side arm imports during the American civil war - and had good advantage over the single action only revolvers of the U.S armies. 
The grips are in great condition, with deep chequering. The engraving to frame and cylinder is still visible, but worn, with the metalwork assuming an overall darkened and aged finish.
