Ward & Sons 12b Percussion S x S Shotgun
Here we have a lovely 12 bore percussion shotgun by Ward & Sons of Birmingham (1859 - 1935). The piece has nice strong springs, holding half and full cock crisply. The barrlels are superb and undamaged, with lovely lovely plum browning over the twist pattern ribbon - with lots of wall thickness at the muzzles.
The woodwork is in good condition on the whole, with a hairline crack behind the barrel tang (hard to spot). The top rib is detailed "Ward & Sons Fine Twist" - referring to the production method of the barrels, prior to the advent of fluid steel. 30" barrels, 117cm overall length.
